Here's DL's creation from today:
As our country will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE day on Friday, I thought it would be good to finish of this busy week( as Friday is a Bank Holiday) with some reflection of how important this day was for our country and what a great rellief it must have been for everyone at the time, knowing that such a terrible and worrying time was coming to an end - something we are all looking forward to in these worrying times also.
Task 1:
First, watch this short film to give you a really good idea of what it was all about:
Task 2 : A Design for Peace
:
The Royal British Legion have suggestd that one activity which would reflect the hard work, determination and huge sacrifice which the people of the country made during this time would be to create a peace display or piece of artwork - getting outside and using some environmental/natural art (twigs, petals, flowers, stones, pebbles, feathers, water etc.). The artist, Andy Goldsworthy might be someone you could look up on Google to see how he uses objects found in nature. would be a great idea today in the sunshine.
Or maybe create a piece of art wor

Task 3:
You may want to use your design and art skills to design a VE day medal. This resource shows you what a real VE medal looks like, and what the colours, design and images may represent. I know you will come up with something imaginative and thoughtful for this task - work neatly and precisely to create something beautiful (that means designing and editing just like in class).

Extreme UK: Exploring our amazing county
I have noticed that many of us haven't really explored our own country to any great extent, and have looked for an activity which would further develop our mapping skills, and find out lots of interesting extreme facts about the UK.
This is a good Digimap challenge, and you may need to do some google research to find some answers.
I have emailed everyone the digimap password again tonight (in case you've lost it) and attached your instruction sheet below.
Click here for your 'Extreme Map' Creation Instructions
If you need extra Digimap help, I've re-posted the help and guidance from last week below.
Here's the link to get onto your Digimap map
If you are still unsure using Digimap - please have a look at the link below - there's some good simple methods here. If you have used it before, you can skip this for now - but come back and learn some skills.
Tuesday 5th May:
Art and Design:
Today, we are going to use our design and artictic skills to create a brand new certificate for the School Games. This is a real competition run from Active Norfolk, and the winning certificate will actually be used next year for all School Games events, So, who better to have a go, with our vast experience of the Norfolk School Games, than you guys.
Click here to see the competition details
It's really important you think about the design, be imaginative but include the values of the Games - this is what they'll be looking for: just copying the discs won't show the creatvity and imagination to make your certificate stand out.
Think about the images, feelings and sense of pride you feel when you get a certificate or take part- can you encapsulate that in a beautiful, unique design. You need to do a draft design, just as we have worked on in design lessons in school.
If you click here, I've uploaded a copy of the above current certificate, so you can see what information you need on it - but DO NOT just design a similar one: that is not your job here.
The competition document tells you where to send it, but also, don't forget to send me a copy to see - or you may want some advice before completing it..
Monday 4th May:

This is the second week of the School Games Virtual Challenge. So this afternoon we've got P.E. in the sunshine ( hopefully).
Just go back to the #C4TOGETHER page and click on the P.E. Wall (I'll also put at link in the top right on this page). You'll find your virtual challenge instruction there.
