Week beginning 30th March:
Instructions are in RED
Wednesday 1st April
Art and Design / History:
1. Your task today is to finish your logo if its not complete.
2. The Mayan Pyramid:
If you did not start this yesterday, you need to begin research into yan pyramids. We need to add to our Mayan knowledge, which we touched on last term, and in paricullar, their stepped pyramids.
Research and find out and record in your book;
1. What did they look like
2. How were they built
3. When were they built..
4. Why were they built.
5. How do they differ and how re they similar to Egyptian pyramids.
Work in the front of your book on this mini-project.
Have a look ar ORs work on this...
EF winning in terms of the biggest at the moment...
Also, create a drawing of one in the FRONT of your book - this will be a mini-topic for Easter.
Focus on trying to achieve the 3D effect of the drawing - remember, the trick is that all the vertical lines must always remain vertical.
If you have already drawn your pyramid, its time to make a 3d model or sculpture of a Mayan pyramid.
You can use lego, paper, card, folded nets(you might need to make several flatter cuboids to stick together), or any material you want to create your model.
Be creative!
Take a photo and put it in your book, and send me a copy - definitely prizes for the biggest, most accurtae, and most creative models.
Tuesday 31st March:
Art and Design / History:
1. Your task today is to work on your #C4TOGETHER logo. Create a quality version and if you can create a computer graphics version as well, that would be a good additional challenge. Try not to just cut and paste a picture from Google- make it unique by adding your own additional designs and elements.
Remember, it can be either drawn or created as a computer graphic style logo. I can change any of them into an electronic version and polish them up for the website.
2. The Mayan Pyramid:
If you need an additional task, you can begin research into tomrrows history/art and design task. As we had just begun learning about the Mayans, it would be good to explore their architecture. The Mayans built incredible stepped pyramids.
Find out what you can about these and create a drawing of one in the FRONT of your book - this will be a mini-topic for Easter.
Focus on trying to achieve the 3D effect of the drawing - remember, the trick is that all the vertical lines must always remain vertical.
2.
Monday 30th March:
Art and Design:
Your task today is to think about a design for a logo to go with our #C4TOGETHER group. I have watch the WING film and think it might be a great inspiration in coming up with a symbol / logo / representation of our class at this time, and for the country as a whole.
Remember, the idea behind the 'Wing' film relates to people being prepared to help each other when thay are in need, and that by combining our strengths and qualities we can become something even stronger as a group.
Designing and Creating:
It's up to you how you do this but it would be great to see a whole range of techniques: pen and paper, coloured pencil, pint, computer art, collage.
Our artwork is always of the highest standard and now its your turn to really show what you can do.
I will convert one or more of these pieces of quality art and design into an electronic version for our website: using paint.net, powerpoint, paint or any other graphics software.
Design it today, but the finished piece should take some time and be finished by Wednesday, create sketches and experiment with ideas. Don't just draw something and be satisfied. We have been learning that good design need thought and modifciation and a clear purpose to be met:
Things to think About:
Your design should capture the ideas beautifully, like the wings, or light, or strength, or holding hands, Or other,, more imaginative imagery.
Here's a few ideas which might inspire you.
